A bike tour of 400 km between sea and mountains,immersed in the Parks of Abruzzo,presents the right union for those seeking both the sea and the mountains and want the family involved.
The advice is to make a stop in Silvi Marina,where from May to September you can combine a few days on the on the beach with the beautiful bike trails inland.

The stages: what to see and where to ride
1 From Silvi at the Stump (151 km)
Brief detour and stop to visit Teramo and stroll through its quaint old town,before diving back in the picturesque road to the Stump.
2 From Silvi to Rigopiano (120 km)
Leaving Silvi,over the hilly course,you pass through Penne–which is certainly worth a visit for the famous port of St. Francis-and then you cross the typical mountain communities such as Farindola,famous for its pecorino cheese.
3 From Silvi to the Block Haus (km 180)
The road to the Block Haus-and thus arriving at its peak-can be accomplished on three sides (from the simplest to the most difficult):Pretoro,Lettomanoppello and Roccamorice.
All these areas are historically important:Pretoro is known as the Saint Moritz of the south and has a beautiful medieval village from the 1600s;Lettomanoppello and Roccamorice also have their own stupendous and renowned villages,because of the practice of working stone,an ancient art,handed down from father to son,which characterizes the typical figure of the”masons”.With the stones,in the past,especially by used by shepherds,it made the so-called “tholos,”the circular construction plan.This mountain,in fact,it is wonderful when approached from any side,and you might even think to approach with the car,and then,on different days,do the climb and reach the 2142 m of the Block Haus,one of the few places over 2000 m in Italy,where, with a clear sky,it seems to be able to touch the sea.For those who have a little time one can suggest a visit to the regenerating baths of Caramanico,created almost five hundred years ago.
